Many types of emergencies can happen while driving; it is always a good idea to be prepared in case of an emergency. One way to be prepared is to always carry a roadside emergency kit in your automobile. Roadside emergency kits can be purchased at a store or you can put one together yourself. If your plan is to put one together yourself here are a few suggested items to include:
  • Flares or reflective triangles
  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Tow rope
  • Jumper cables
  • Cell phone and charger
  • First-aid kit
  • Ice scraper or snow brush
  • A quart or more of motor oil
  • A gallon of coolant
  • Blanket or space blanket
  • Tool kit with screwdrivers, pliers, adjustable wrench, pocket knife
  • A can of tire inflator and sealant
  • Granola or energy bars
  • Bottled water
Carrying items such as these suggested will not fix every problem but having these available in emergency situation could save you in a time of need.
